Eric.

Because of the Leafs clear domination (physical and finesse) in two of the three games...do you think Montreal will be watching the standings and perhaps throw a couple of games down the stretch in order to avoid the Leafs in the first round?

Thanks.

do they leafs plan on finishing 7th or 8th?

If not then All the habs have to do is keep winning to avoid them, and that's only if they would want to avoid them.

Looking at the current playoff teams, the leafs with their horrible giveway percentage, and puck possesion percentage and having no playoff expeirence, I would say that the leafs are a favorable opponent for the habs or any team in the east.

Pierre LeBrun says to expect a Ryane Clowe trade today. Something tells me it won't be to the #Habs.

Maybe he'll be traded and some goals will come with him. That would be an added bonus.

no. i don't think the habs need to avoid the leafs in any capacity. First game of the season was a bad one. The second game --6-0 loss was their worst of the season. They smoked the Leafs in the third game. I don't think they worry about them whatsoever.

that said, I'm impressed with their team, and while everyone's waiting for the wheels to fall off the bus, you have to give them credit for where they are. Kadri and Lupul are playing out of this world, and if a goalie comes in...well, that could make a big difference.

But I don't think the Canadiens would worry at all about playing them in the playoffs.
